Name: Jared Delany
Type: Human, Lawyer for Wolfram & Hart

History: Jared is the older brother (by two years) of Jack Delany and the uncle to Mere Delany. However, other than being raised with Jack, the two literally have nothing in common. While Jack was a bit of a free spirit like his hippie parents, Jared was much more straight laced. While he loves his parents and brother, he really doesn't know what to make of them. He decided that he wanted to go into law at an early age, although he wasn't sure if he would be working for the prosecution or the defense. He didn't have an aversion to either side.
It was being recruited by Wolfram & Hart that changed his mind. They offered him more money than he had ever dreamed of. It was impossible for him to turn it down. Of course, he had a family to think of as well. Due to a one night stand that happened in law school, he wound up with a daughter by the name of Piper. He wound up with custody of her, however, once he got further into Wolfram & Hart, he realized that anyone either at his place of employment or someone with something against it might want to use her in some way against him, so he decided that she would go to boarding school.
It was only recently that she convinced him that, since she would now be old enough to take care of herself, that she could come back to LA and live with him again. While he's more than happy to have his daughter back with him, he still has the tendency to want to watch over her, even though she *really* can take care of herself.
As for the rest of his family, he is cordial with them, sending them Christmas cards (usually with money inside) every year along with birthday cards, but he can count the times he's seen them in the last ten years on one hand. He stays busy with work, plus he just truly has little in common with them. However, if something did come up, he'd be willing to help them.
